Bristol Bears Women 17 - 14 Harlequins Women: Emma Orr brace inspires Bears to victory

Bristol scored first: Christiana Balogun pushing her way through the Quins defence and over the line to break the deadlock.

Beth Wilcock got Quins off the mark, as the ball went through the hands all over the way to the right wing, where Wilcock cut her way through a handful of defenders to sprint to the line.

Harlequins were putting the pressure on at the goal line but finally broke through as Aoife Wafer found a short gap to dive through, and extend her side’s lead.

The second half rolled around, and Bristol were still in the fight. Ruahei Demant put a kick in over the top for Emma Orr to latch herself onto Bristol’s second try, closing the gap early in the second half.

She completed her brace after finding a gap through the Quins line, able to keep herself out of defenders’ clutches, running in the score that took the lead for the Bears.

Quins had the chance to push for a winner, but a turnover by Bears when the clock went red confirmed the result.

Bristol earned their fifth win of the season, whilst Harlequins suffered their sixth defeat on the bounce, with only one match remaining for them to make it into the top four.
