Brian Moore slams 'very poor' Lawrence Dallaglio interview

Wasps have barely a week to avoid such a plight after filing a second notice of intention to appoint administrators.

The legendary number 8 was discussing the clubs current plight as BT Sport built up to the Northampton Saints clash on Sunday.

“They [RFU] will say that any club that's in administration has to go the same way as Worcester,” Dallaglio said.

“But the reality is, do you want to lose one of the biggest brands in club rugby, in world rugby and one of the brands that's been one of the most successful sides in the Premiership? Let's hope it doesn't come to that.”

Also responding in his column for The Telegraph, Moore wrote: "Former Wasps claim it is not in rugby’s interests for Wasps to be relegated, given their contribution to rugby, even going as far as to claim it is one of the world’s leading brands,

"Sorry, but the rules were agreed by everybody; equally big clubs have survived suffering relegation and not complained. There is a reason this sort of deal is proposed – they get the assets cheaper and leave a lot of little people out of pocket.

"No club can claim to have contributed so much that it is a special case. Would Wasps supporters back a similar call if it came from Quins who, despite winning nowhere near as much, are very much the equal of Wasps when it comes to rugby brands?"

He talked about the brilliant players that he has played with and watched. Then he decided to pick his best XV, with all the players that would make up a team of an all-time rugby XV.

However, despite selecting Jonny Wilkinson in his all-time England XV, the 2003 World Cup hero missed out on a spot in his teammates World XV with Australia legend Michael Lynagh instead taking the number 10 shirt.

14 DAVID CAMPESE (AUS): Wasn’t always generous in his comments about England but he was a great player and, really, he walks into the team

13 JERRY GUSCOTT (ENG): The way Jerry could accelerate onto a pass made him unique in my eyes. One of those players with the ability to do something that changed a game

12 FRANK BUNCE (NZ): Lots of people will say ‘how can you not pick Tim Horan at No 12?’ Horan was a great player, a better attacker than Bunce but I loved Bunce’s physicality

11 JONAH LOMU (NZ): If only for the matches he played against England, he would get in, but Lomu played plenty of other great matches.

10 MICHAEL LYNAGH (AUS): Dan Carter, Jonny Wilkinson or Lynagh? I would go for Lynagh. His ability to control a game was phenomenal and he was so hard to get at

9 NICK FARR-JONES (AUS): Gets in before Joost van der Westhuizen. Farr-Jones could be a brilliant link man, or an extra forward and he was an awesome wind-up merchant. Slippery Nick, not a bad bloke at all

1 JASON LEONARD (ENG): People might say, ‘ah, Lawrence liked Leonard and put him in his World team’ but how can you get 115 caps, play in three decades, two World Cup finals and not be a pretty extraordinary player?

2 SEAN FITZPATRICK (NZ): To do it for as long as he did it, in a country where the scrutiny is intense and every mistakes is seized upon, that takes something special. Defined the role of the modern hooker

3 OLO BROWN (NZ): When the All Blacks had Dowd, Fitzpatrick and Brown in their front, they only ever went in one direction, forward. Brown was an awesome player, a truly brilliant scrummager

4 MARTIN JOHNSON (ENG - captain): About 10 years ago, I said Johnson and John Eales would be my second-row forwards in a World XV. Nothing has changed. Farr Jones, Fitzpatrick and Eales and Johnno would still be my captain

5 JOHN EALES (AUS): He could dominate the lineout, make plenty of tackles, maintain an unbelievable workrate, kick goals and remain the calmest person on the pitch. Great foward and great leader

6 RICHARD HILL (ENG): It is unusual not to have a Springbok in my World XV but was Francois Pienaar better than Hill? Not in my opinion. The thing about Hill is that even at the highest level, he didn’t make mistakes

8 ZINZAN BROOKE (NZ): So talented, so physical, such a great understanding of the game and so bloody competitive

7 MICHAEL JONES (NZ): He had everything. Quick, athletic, skilful, brave, and a great team player. There have been some great No 7s; Winterbottom, Back, George Smith, Richie McCaw but none as good as Jones.
