BREAKING: Mike Brown will play on in the Premiership next season

Brown joined Tigers on a short-term contract midway through the current campaign and, to date, has made 5 appearances and scored two tries.

The England international made the move to Leicester after stints with Harlequins, where he won two Premiership titles, and Newcastle Falcons.

Brown made 72 Test appearances for England between 2007-2018 during which he won three Six Nations titles.

Speaking about the new deal for Brown, Leicester Tigers Interim Head Coach Richard Wigglesworth said: “I am really pleased for Mike, who has earned the new deal with not only his performances in games but in the way he has come into the club and added to our group.”

“His experience has been invaluable and the professionalism he has is something that we have seen help improve his team mates here at the club.

“The circumstances in which Mike returned were unique and challenging, but you would never known by the way he has approached each day and this contract is just reward for that hard work.”

Mike Brown has selected the players that he would select if he were England head coach.

"Kyle Sinckler's a shoo in for me. 

"Will Stuart is not on the same level but has proved himself as a good back-up. There's not too much depth at tighthead, so they need to foster a third option. 

"Jamie George and Luke Cowan Dickie are nailed on at hooker, but the third spot is open."

"If they decide to take a third No 10 then George Ford will come back in, but there's no point having him in to hold tackle bags. They're more likely to have a utility guy like George Furbank to provide cover.

"It was really tough to see Danny Care hooked in the first half. He's a world-class player and I hope he bounces back, but it has given Ben Youngs the edge.

"You can see shades of Richard Wigglesworth and Youngs in Jack van Poortvliet with his game management and kicking accuracy, but he also has the running threat too. Raffi Quirke is another guy I'm a fan of."
