BREAKING: England International departs Bath with 'immediate effect'

England and Bath lock Charlie Ewels has inked a brief contract with the Bulls, as he makes his comeback from injury and seeks to reclaim his spot in the Test squad ahead of the upcoming World Cup.
According to The Times, the 27-year-old will be looking to regain fitness down in South Africa before returning home in the summer.
Bath confirmed last June that Ewels has suffered an ACL injury whilst on international duty with England during their tour of Australia.
“Charlie has been for his operation, which went well, and he will be out for an extended period,” said Bath coach Johann van Graan the following month.
"He is in good spirits, and he sees it as an opportunity to work on other parts of his game as he goes through the rehab process. These types of knee injuries, my experience tells me it is too early to say in terms of length of time.
“Is there a chance (of playing this season)? Potentially, the back end of it, but I wouldn’t want to speculate on it now. It’s way too early.”
Ewels’ Test debut came off the bench for Courtney Lawes after against Fiji at Twickenham in November 2016.He also contributed to the subsequent wins over Argentina and Australia in that series. His fourth cap and first start came in the first Test summer tour win over Argentina in San Juan.
The following week, he scored his first international try after winning a lineout and linking with Nathan Hughes and Joe Launchbury. He featured in all of England’s November international games in 2018. Ewels was part of the wider 2019 Rugby World Cup training squad and featured in the 2020 Guinness Six Nations.
His most admired players are Martin Johnson, Lawrence Dallaglio and Victor Matfield and his top stadium is the Recreation Ground – the home of Bath Rugby.

#2. Most caps without a try: Joe Marler - 72
The loosehead may have never managed a five-pointer for England over the course of his 72 caps, but it is still within his power to change that as he is still part of Eddie Jones’ current plans (unless he retires again).

#3. Fastest red card- Charlie Ewels
The England lock was shown a red card in the second minute of the 2022 Six Nations match against Ireland at Twickenham - the earliest sending off for any team since the championship began in 1883.
Ewels was dismissed after a head on head contact while tackling with opposite number James Ryan 82 seconds into the match.
#4. Most replacement appearances: Danny Care - 46
No one strives to be the second best at their chosen profession but sometimes circumstances dictate that you play a supporting role. Incredibly, Care has only started 38 of his 84 England caps.

#5. Most caps without a Lions cap: Dylan Hartley - 97
Two little words were all it took for Hartley’s Lions dreams to crumble to dust. The 11-week ban that the former England captain copped for telling referee Wayne Barnes to “f— off” in Northampton’s 2013 Premiership final loss to Leicester put the nail in his Lions coffin.
