Awkward Alun Wyn Jones comments on his black eye

The Wales captain was fit to lead his team to victory against Ireland on Sunday in their Six Nations opener despite a clash during training with fellow lock Jake Ball.

An awkward exchange about the incident with a journalist went as follows:

JOURNALIST: How’s your eye?

ALUN WYN JONES: "Fine, thanks."

JOURNALIST: What happened in the week there?

JONES: "With regards to what?"

JOURNALIST: With the fact that you have a black eye there.

JONES: "It’s just a game isn’t it. I’m sure there is a queue of 100 so we'll just move on."

Prior to the press conference, in the post-match TV interview, the Wales captain was asked by BBC Sport whether he had forgiven Jake Ball for giving him that shiner.

The Wales captain awkwardly laughed and, after a momentary pause, replied: "A team's a team."
