Argentina squad confirmed for 2025 Rugby Championship

Argentina had a real mixed bag of a Summer, with Los Pumas kicking off their campaign with one of their all-time greatest triumphs. Argentina picked up an unforgettable 28-24 win over the British & Irish Lions in Dublin, to claim the 1888 Cup and send the Lions down under to Australia with the taste of defeat.

However, Argentina squandered their momentum as they hosted England for two Tests across San Juan and La Plata, with Steve Borthwick's side picking up two hard-fought victories (35-12 & 22-17). Contepomi's men ended their Summer with a clash against their South American rivals, and got back to winning ways with a 52-17 decimation of Uruguay.

Upon naming his squad for the opening leg of the 2025 Rugby Championship, Felipe Contepomi said;

“The Rugby Championship presents us with a huge challenge as a team, and we're eager to reconnect after the three weeks of the July Window. Hosting the All Blacks in our home country is always special, and we're excited to face them for the first time in Córdoba and to meet them again in Vélez.”

“We wanted to sincerely thank everyone who came to training, the hotel, and the stadium. Your support is very important to us. We'll see you again soon in Córdoba and Buenos Aires.”

There are six Argentina players returning to the squad, as the following assortment of stars played no part in Los Pumas' recent Summer fixtures. Juan Cruz Mallia, Santiago Chocobares, Marcos Kremer, Bautista Delguy, Mateo Carreras and Ignacio Ruiz are all back in the squad for their first call-ups of 2025. A trio of top talents are unavailable due to injury at this stage, with Benjamin Grondona, Emiliano Boffelli and Thomas Gallo all currently out on the side-lines.
