Alan Shearer’s youngest daughter marries England rugby star in stunning ceremony

Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer has celebrated a huge family occasion after his daughter Hollie married England rugby international Joe Marchant.
The former England football captain shared a series of pictures from the celebrations, showing Hollie alongside her new husband and posing with her famous dad.

Shearer wrote on Instagram: “Wow!!! What a weekend. Daughter number 2 now married. Congratulations Mr & Mrs Marchant ❤️.”
The post was quickly flooded with congratulations, including messages from former Republic of Ireland international Robbie Keane, Peter Jones, Steph Houghton and Holly Willoughby.
Hollie, 31, and Marchant, 30, had already completed their legal marriage ceremony in Winchester last month before their larger wedding celebrations.
The couple announced their engagement in November 2024 after Marchant proposed during a trip to Paris. They had been together publicly since 2022, with Hollie moving to France while Marchant was playing for Stade Français.
Marchant won 26 caps for England and featured prominently during the 2023 Rugby World Cup before leaving Harlequins for France. He has since returned to the Gallagher PREM with Sale Sharks.
It means one of English football's most famous families now has another major rugby connection.
Marchant is not the only rugby player set to join the Shearer family. Alan’s eldest daughter Chloe is engaged to former Newcastle Falcons scrum-half Micky Young, who also represented England Sevens. The pair announced their engagement in November 2025.
