Harlequins have confirmed Adam Jones will remain part of the club’s coaching setup for the new Gallagher Premiership season, following the departure of head coach Danny Wilson.

Former Ospreys boss Toby Booth joins as a forwards consultant, while defence coach Jason Gilmore steps up to senior coach. He’ll be supported by attack coach Nick Evans and skills coach Gerard Mullen.

Jones spent the summer on secondment with Wales for the Japan tour and worked as a scrum consultant during the 2025 Six Nations. Despite being tipped for a permanent Wales role under Steve Tandy, he won’t be joining former Quins boss Danny Wilson—who left for Wales last week—anytime soon.

He could still return on a secondment basis for the autumn internationals, but that’s yet to be confirmed. The WRU are working with Tandy to finalise his coaching staff, though some appointments may need to wait until contracts expire.

“Following Danny’s departure last week, we are pleased to swiftly confirm our updated coaching structure for the 2025/26 season,” said Quins chief executive Laurie Dalrymple.

“Jason has made a positive impact within the performance group since his arrival at the Club and will assume this leadership role within what is an already established and experienced coaching group. Similarly, we’re equally pleased to welcome back Toby as a forwards consultant, who has a strong understanding of our club and playing identity.

“As the season progresses, we will continue to review our coaching structure for the long term but for now, our full focus is this week’s fixture against Leicester Tigers in the PREM Cup and next Friday’s Gallagher PREM opener against Bath Rugby at a sold-out Stoop.”
