5 standout performers Jones should call-up after this weekend

Despite Eddie Jones resistance to picking in-form Gallagher Premiership stars, here are five players who impressed over the weekend for their respective clubs.
1. Sam Simmonds (Exeter Chiefs)
Although he may good enough for England since 2018, at least in the eyes of Eddie Jones,that might not stop him becoming a Lion this summer. With Warren Gatland in the stands at, the 26-year-old number eight inspired an Exeter Chiefs fightback from 13-0 behind to beat Bath 38-15 at The Rec. Amid a pride of potential Lions on show in an entertaining game, he stood out.
2. Siva Naulago (Bristol Bears)
For a player who is in his first season in top-level rugby union, he has been exceptional in his recent development in a Bears shirt. A world class threat on the wing with the pace and skill to give defenders nightmare. League converts don't always work, so whoever unearthed the Fijian and saw the potential in him should get a bonus.
3. Freddie Steward (Leicester Tigers)
One of the form players in the Premiership at the moment, a couple of moments of hesitation in the first-half were long forgotten as the fullback grew into the game, especially with ball in hand in the second half. Two pieces of defensive work were key involving ex-Tiger Steve Mafi, chopping him low early on before helping to mop up a charged-down kick.
4. Lewis Ludlow (Gloucester)
In possibly the most unsurprising turn of events this season, the captain was the games’ top tackler, making 16 tackles as 14-man Gloucester edged past Wasps. A captain's performance when his side were up against in the second half, defying the odds by winning playing with a man down for a huge chunk of the game..
5. Marland Yarde (Sale Sharks)
Exiled from the England squad for almost four years, the wide-man put in a quality display as the Sharks sailed past Newcastle Falcons at the AJ Bell Stadium. He opened the try-scoring before setting up Simon Hammersley for the games final score. After some bad luck on the injury front, it looks as if he may be getting back to his best.
