Here are the five players who disappointed us in round one of the 2019 Guinness Six Nations. They will have better weekends, that’s for sure!

1. Huw Jones - Scotland

Had a powerful burst up the middle early in the second half but generally looked like a player who has had only 30 minutes of competitive game time in the past month, before being replaced by Chris Harries in 57 minutes. He will improve as the competition goes on...

2. Jacob Stockdale - Ireland

Looked good going forward, but how he will rue not holding onto the ball that became England's second try. Was given a 5/10 by the Irish media after his display.

3. Sebastien Vahaamahina - France

A below average performance from the Clermont lock. He made all of his attempted tackles but his attempted skip pass that was pounced on by George North cost his side the game.

4. Adam Beard -Wales

Wales didn’t win many balls during his time on the pitch and he was replaced by Cory Hill on 48 minutes. He will have better games...

5. Johnny Sexton - Ireland

Lacked his usual fizz but was put under pressure by England's high defensive press. Gave away a penalty for hands in the ruck, on 60, that Owen Farrell failed to punish Ireland for. Threw a poor pass at the end to gift Slade a second try.
