France team to play England: Debutant named in starting XV

France’s coaching team has confirmed the lineup for the French XV ahead of their clash with England. The selection features a few adjustments, including Joshua Brennan’s potential first appearance in the 2026 Six Nations and a debut cap for Temo Matiu.

Overall, France have made only minor changes, with the most notable coming in the second row as Thibaud Flament and Emmanuel Meafou return to the squad.

Oscar Jegou misses out after receiving a four-week suspension for an eye gouge on Ewan Ashman, opening the door for Temo Matiu to step in and earn his first international cap.

The 24-year-old back row, who plays for Bordeaux-Bègles, has already made 18 appearances for the club this season.

In the backline, the only change sees Pierre-Louis Barassi replace the injured Nicolas Depoortere. Among the replacements, Joshua Brennan could make his Six Nations debut.

Brennan may be a familiar name to Irish supporters, as he is the son of former Leinster player and Ireland international Trevor Brennan.
