Both sides traded penalties but could have had tries too, as they missed chances to score, with Bath the more relieved after the Bears should have gone two tries ahead. Bath have been masters of the second half, and they once again showed that their depth is key to winning matches.

In 20-second half minutes, Bath went from seven points down to 21 ahead with four converted tries, first Ted Hill went over from the lineout after a Spencer switch five meters out. Bath's second came from a superp Tom de Glanville kick, which was gathered and scored by Joe Cokanasiga to give Bath their first lead of the game.

The momentum was with the hosts, and when Finn Russell's pass found Will Muir in ‘Horse’ corner the Rec was rampant. With Bath’s power game causing havoc for the Bears, Max Ojomoh exploited the space left by the visitors to charge in for the fourth try.

The way Bristol play the game meant the match was far from over at 34-13, and even when Bernard Janse van Rensburg crashed over seven minutes from time to make it a 14-point game, the nails were still being bitten in the Rec but the hosts held on to them to Twickenham for the second successive year.

In an extremely taxing match, De Glanville shone with some brilliant pieces of cover defence as Bath swung the game

It was quite a tough game for Cokanasiga and he got some of his positioning wrong, allowing the visitors time and space, but the winger was great ball in hand and managed a try in the second half.

After a first half full of defence, Ojomoh attacked in space during the second half to wrestle momentum for Bath and scored a try for his efforts.

Back after injury, Redpath was the key cog in the defence and a pivotal player in a turnover which helped Bath earn their first points. While Bath are usually composed, Redpath showed a bit of fight in him, which was key in the end for the hosts.

After struggling in the first half, Muir was back to his best with a brilliant defensive second half while also collecting a try.

A tough first half in attack for Russell, the fly-half showed his abilities to bounce back and shrug mistakes off with a well-controlled last forty.

Spencer was a key man in defence, often chasing his heart out to cover the Bears' passing channels, The captain added his usual kicking prowess to put his side in the right positions while also spotting gaps in the Bears' defence.

Obano was brilliant while on keeping his head and showing his energy to keep making tackles

Mr. Bath was immense as usual and left it all out there with a masterclass in work rate and defence.

The prop had a great matchup against Ellis Genge and went toe to toe with his fellow Lion.

Showed some big physicality with his carries and was a monster at the lineout in defence, and made some immense last-gasp tackles.

One of the leaders of the group, Ewels kept a calm head amongst the chaos.

With his pace and physicality, Hill was key in defence for the hosts. He then scored a try straight after halftime before immediately saving one with a last-ditch tackle on Ravouvou.

The flanker was a livewire around the park and earned himself multiple turnovers, and kept his side in the game and earned himself Man of the Match.

The eight had moments of power, but it was not his day with the fast pace not suiting him.

The fullback was steady but perhaps missed a few chances in the wide channels.

The winger showed a calm head and a clean pair of heels to power past the Bath defence to set up Bristol’s try. Moments later, he was yellow-carded for a cynical trip on Spencer. This was the only downside on what was a monster performance as he nearly got the Bears to Twickenham on his own with linebreaks aplenty, as he caused havoc for Bath every time he got the ball.

The centre was key as usual in defence, but perhaps was not at his best in attack.

The centre has been sensational all season and once again showed his worth, constantly looking for space in the wide channels and nearly breaking through several times.

The winger had his moments ball in hand, but perhaps wasn’t at his most elusive.

A key man in attack, MacGinty was able to shift the attack well, but did not have the killer edge.

The nine was the key in attack, but went off injured just before the break, which looked a big blow for the visitors' tempo.

The prop showed his aggression early, including in his voice, which resulted in a penalty being reversed for verbals. He was at the heart of Bristol's forward play and enjoyed a great battle with his fellow Lion Stuart

The hooker was everywhere both in attack and defence but fluffed a lineout five metres from the Bath line which could have got his side two scores up.

Led from the front and showed his eye for a try with a brilliant score.
