BREAKING: Will Rowlands announces retirement from International rugby

The 34-year-old represented Wales on 41 occasions, scoring three times. He was part of the 2021 Six Nations squad that won the tournament.

He received his first call-up to the Wales setup in 2020 before making his international debut against France. After a five-year international career, he remained included in Matt Sherratt's Six Nations, featuring in all five matches.

Also, in 2022, the Welsh Rugby Writers Association named him Wales Player of the Year. He will continue to play for Top 14 side Racing 92, a club he has been with since 2022. He moved to the Parisian side because he could not reach an agreement with the WRU on contract terms.

On Rowlands' retirement from international rugby, Wales' head coach Steve Tandy said, "Will has been an amazing servant for the game in Welsh rugby. He's been an outstanding player and a great human being in the environment.

"Whoever's spoken about Will said he added so much value to the national game, both on and off the pitch.

"Obviously it's disappointing for us to lose a player of that quality, but we're totally understanding around his circumstance and wish him all the best for his future."
